Called by His Name --

Receiving Our "New" Name

“Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh in vain.”

Being “called by His name” for most means that God has magically and mystically contacted us in a very spiritual way, and He has used His name somehow to do it.  Bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; even every one that is called by my name. Isaiah 43:6-7.  He definitely wants to gather His offspring from all over the earth.  Does He mean that His name is the way that He will call them, thereby letting them know that He is gathering His spiritual chicks?  Or does He mean that His children are literally called by His very own name—that His name has literally been given to us, and as far as He is concerned, we His children have the same name as He does.

Do we not call our sons and daughters by our very own surnames?  The son, any son, receives the name of his father.  That surname stays with him for life; it will not change.  The son has the same name as his father.  If you are born of the same seed, then you take on the progenitor of that seed.  Interestingly, the woman, though bearing the surname of her father for the years before her marriage, takes on eventually the name of her husband, being joined to him in one body.

Just as a child takes on the last name of its father, even  so  we  spiritual  children  take  on  the  name  of our spiritual  Father,  Yahweh.   We are His offspring.  He known us from ages past, before we were ever brought forth upon this earth in this current earthy dimension.  We are His; we are special to Him.  He formed us for His own purposes and glory.  He named us from of old.  We are “called by His name.”  He desires above all else for His sons and daughters to be gathered from the ends of the earth—those sons and daughters who are called by His name.  He is the only one who could have named us with His own name Yahweh.  Therefore, Yahweh is their name, too.   We are yours from old; but you have not ruled over them, they have not been called by your name.  Isaiah 63:19.  Those that He rules over, He calls them by His own name.  And those that He does not rule over, He does not call them by His name.

Moreover, think of the faith that the Father has in us!  You talk about faith!  We came out from Him, the Father of spirits.  Each of us is one of those spirits that now inhabit a earthy, fleshly body.  And we have a new name written down before the world ever was—its last name is Yahweh.  We are named after our Father.  Yahweh is our “new” last name.

He Has Given Us His Own Name

Is it a big stretch to believe that He has given us His own name and that He calls us by it?  Just like my son’s name is Noah Hancock, which is my very own surname, our surname with Him is His surname.  And His Hebrew name is Yahweh. When He was manifested in the flesh, He was named Yahshua, “of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”  But have there been any of Yah’s prophets go by His name?  The answer is “yes”: Yeshayahu or Isayah, Yirmeyahu or Jeremyah, Obadyah, and Zekaryah.

The  apostle  Paul  talked  about us having the Savior’s name.   I  bow my  knees to  the  Father of our Messiah Yahshua, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.  Ephesians 3:14.  He calls His children by His own name!  Just like we call our children by our own name.  He calls us by His name Yah!  He has chosen us to not only reveal His name to, but also give us His name.  Yahweh, the Supreme Spirit Being of our fathers, has a spiritual family, and He has given His name Yahweh to His family members.

We were with Him before the creation of the world, and we were called by His name Yahweh then.  We are His offspring, spiritual ones who have now gained a foothold in this earthly dimension.  We are like an invading invisible spirit-entity, not of this world, who are taking up residence in earthly bodies.  We are spirit entities who have come out from the Father Yahweh. We are spiritual sons and daughters who have been chosen by Him before the foundations of the world.  Yahweh, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.  Psalms 90:1-2.  If my kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight.

The Father is reproducing Himself in the earthly incubator called the human body.  He is Spirit and He is looking for a few good vessels to place His Spirit-Seed into.  Now, “He has chosen us in Him” long before the earth ever was.  Our job is to believe this report of what is happening and walk in His Spirit that He has given us.

By believing His word of His plan of reproduction, then we become that integral part where His Seed, His Word, first believed upon, grows in power until it becomes Him in a fullness.  But we, the human host, if you will, must surrender to this process, must acquiese to His master plan for  us.  We as humans must nullify our plans for ourselves.  We must negate all of our schemes and dreams for personal glory in this brief wisp of an earthly life, and rather give up the old ways and old life of acquiring wealth and trinkets for ourselves.

We Must Change Our Thinking

We must allow our minds to be changed into His mind, which is His desire for us.  Those who do this are doing His will.  His will is His desire, His plan and purpose for us.  We are to give up, putting old attitudes and thinking down, and take on the truth of what He is really doing, which is reproducing Himself.  He wants to use us as a channel of love.  We cannot be used this way by Him if we are busy glorifying our old selfish natures. In fact, our old Adam, our old self, our old ego, in a word, must die.  We must “reprogram” our thinking to come into the “mind of the Messiah, by “casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge” of His plan in reproducing Himself.  In a word, there is no room for “Me” in Him.

We have been chosen by the Creator personally for all of this.  He knew us before.  He knows already what we will do, how we will respond. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  Ephesians 1:4. NIV.

Now, since we are placed into an adoption of spiritual sons unto God, we now take the name of Yahweh our God, for He has given it to us.  But what if we don’t believe in His name?  What if we say that it really does not matter whether we use a substitute name like “Jesus Christ” taken from the Greek and Latin for His true Hebrew name.  But ancient Hebrew is Yahweh’s language, and if He calls us by His name, then we had better believe that it will be a Hebrew name and not a Greek name that has no meaning.  What if we refuse to call  Him  by His name, Yahweh, and refuse to accept He calls us by that very name?  We would then be taking or regarding or receiving His name in vain, for it does us or Him or anybody else no profit.

The word “take” in  “Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh in vain” is the Hebrew word nacah, translated in other places as “receive, regard, and accept,” among others.  It is used frequently in the phrase like “taking a vow,” meaning, “assuming the responsibility of.”  If He has not given us His name, then it is difficult to regard it in vain.  But if He does indeed “call us by His name,” then we are in serious trouble with Him if we regard His name as a vain thing.

By rejecting His true name “Yahweh,” we are really cutting our own spiritual throats, for He has said that He calls His beloved children by His very own name, whether we realize it or not.  Isaiah cries to Yahweh, putting Him in remembrance that those of us who He calls by His own name are His; the others are not.  Yahweh…we are thine; thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name. Isaiah 63: 17,19.

We are not mystically called by God when we are “called by His name.”  He literally calls His children by His own name just like our children are called by our own last name.  He has given them His name as their “new” name.  Those who regard His name to no profit break one of the ten commandments.  Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh in vain If we reject the truth about God’s name being Yahweh  in the original Hebrew and disregard that He has named us with His very own name, then we disobey our Father and break His commandment.  The sons and daughters of Yahweh will, however, receive this truth, and it will sink deep into their hearts, and they will fully realize that they have been given a new name, the name of their Father, the Creator Himself.

The  sons  and  daughters  of God will then realize how important Yahweh’s name is to Him and to them.  They will see that believing in His name is believing in what His name means, which is that Yahweh is the Savior who came in human form some 2000 years ago.  Believing this meaning of His name is receiving Him.  And He now has a many-membered body of sons and daughters who are walking on the way to perfection in Him.  They realize that they can pray in His name by praying with the knowledge of the revelatory truth contained in His name.

And they will realize that He is tender-hearted toward His children and will answer their prayers as they pray in the truth of His name.  His words  will ring in their ears, If you ask anything in my name, I will do it for my name’s sake.

The sons and daughters of God will walk on in the Spirit until their change come—until that time in a few short years from now when they shall be unveiled here on earth as the very immortal family of their Father, the Creator Yahweh.  They will come to have His patience as they wait for the time of their manifestation to the world.  They are their Father’s great trump card and will be His witnesses that He is God.  They are waiting, even as you read this—waiting for their unveiling to the world.
