22 Letter Concerning the"Messianic Israel" Message
The following letter was written in love without any animosity out of concern for the truth.
Angus and Batya Wootten House of David Saint Cloud, FL 34770 July 24, 1999
Dear brother and sister,
I rejoice and salute your efforts in re-uniting the two sticks of Judah and Ephraim. Truly, that is what the Father has in mind for these last days. I inquired and received about a month ago your House of David Herald. I especially enjoyed reading on the back page from the article, “The Hope of Messianic Israel,”: “Yeshua is Yahveh Elohim appearing in the flesh.” I totally agree that Yahshua is Yah-in-human-form—Yahweh being that great invisible Father who dwelt fully in the Son’s body (“Show us the Father and it will suffice.” “Have I been so long time with you and you not know Me? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father”). And yet, I found in your statement of beliefs about the “The Hope of Messianic Israel” some glaring omissions concerning Judah and concerning “the lost sheep of the House of Israel.” First, your article declares, “Messianic Israel affirms that the Jewish people have been kept identifiable as a remnant of the patriarch Jacob, Yahveh’s covenant people….” A remnant is a part of the same cloth, so you would mean that they are of Jacob’s true fleshly lineage. I agree that they have been kept identifiable as a people, but according to many imminent historians, the vast majority of modern Jewry do not come out of the loins of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel. Arthur Koestler, one of the most famous Jewish writers of this century (Commander of the Order of the British Empire, one of the ten Companions of Literature, elected by the Royal Society of Literature), is the author of The Thirteenth Tribe: The Khazar Empire and Its Heritage, Random House, Inc., New York, 1976. In it he proves through meticulous research that his own Eastern European Jewish ancestors were not from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, but rather from an ethnic Turko-Mongol people called in history the Khazars. They converted to Judaism in the early Middle Ages, was conquered 300 years later and migrated to Eastern Europe. It is here that they multiplied and became not only the cradle of Modern Jewry but its great majority at 85%. (The 15% are said to be the Sephardic Jews of Spain and beyond, some of the royal seedlines of Western Europe, etc). “Here, then, we have the cradle of the numerically strongest and culturally dominant part of modern Jewry,” states Koestler on page 141. The Encyclopedia Britannica’s article under “Khazar,” 1970 edition, volume 13, p. 328, confirms this conversion to Judaism. Also, the article mentioned that the Jewish people have been kept identifiable “…to preserve His Holy Torah (Law), Feasts, and Shabbat (Sabbath).” You made no mention, however, of the Babylonian Talmud, Judaism’s holiest book on which the religion is based. “My son, be more careful in the observance of the words of the Scribes than in the words of the Torah (Old Testament),”says the Talmud, Erubin 21b, Socino edition. Surely I don’t have to quote here some of the passages of the Talmud that try to “make void the commandments of God.” This is the very reason that the Messiah condemned the traditions of the Mishnah (early Talmud) and those who taught it, the scribes and Pharisees. Judaism is as far from the true faith that Abraham and Moses taught as main stream denominationalism is from the early church—perhaps farther. We are admonished to not call evil good and good evil. (See Jeremiah’s discussion of the good figs and bad figs—“figs” being citizens of the Kingdom of Judah). Secondly, I found no mention in the Messianic Israel article about the “lost sheep of the House of Israel.” You know, of course, that they are the ones that the Messiah said He was sent to. Ephraim was one of Joseph’s two sons born in Egypt, and they were awarded a double portion, a double blessing upon entering Canaan land. Yahweh referred to the 10-tribed Northern Kingdom of Israel as “Ephraim,” for they were the dominant tribe among the 10. Yes, the 10 tribes were dispersed “north and west” of Jerusalem. The Ten Lost Tribes of Israel are known in scripture as “Ephraim,” and they will be regathered along with the two-tribed Kingdom of Judah people, Judah and Benjamin. The ten tribes were scattered, but all prophecy states that they will be strong and be the leaders of the world and “possess the gates of their enemies” (Read Jacob’s blessings on his sons in Genesis 49 and Moses’ blessing of the tribes in Deut. 33—especially of Joseph and his offspring in verses 13-17). I personally have never read in scripture a more profound and thorough blessing of any people by Yahweh! I have visited five continents and many countries, and there is only one nation that could even come close in fulfilling those blessings, and that is the United States of America. Anyone, I don’t care who it is, who has ever traveled the world, will tell you how blessed this country is. Even the USA’s enemies have to admit it! So, yes, I feel that the true modern day Israelites, the Western European stock peoples, are an integral part of the story. In fact, they are the “Israel” in “Messianic Israel.” Finally, these things are written not through an agenda of any group, for I am not affiliated with anyone. We are to love each other. Vengeance is only for Yahweh to think upon. We all are to get the large chunks of wood out of our own eyes and then start helping each other see more clearly. That is what I think you are trying to do, and I hope that you believe the same about me.
Sincerely,
Wayne Hancock
